PROJECT WHATS IN A CELL.
An artproject by Yasho van Dijk and Ed Hanssen.
PROJECT CLOSED 12 may 2012.
CONTENT of the project
Participants who want to join the project are invited to join the Facebookgroup by the project’s name or by mailing Yasho van Dijk.
Participants make a design on paper(self-produced or bought).
It can be a drawing, painting, knitting, lytho, etc. The maximum size is 10/10cm.
You must send your little artwork to Yasho in a little plastic bag. This little bag has the maximum size of 12/12 cm
You can retrieve Yasho’s address by mailing her at josvand@gmail.com At first we thought of participants putting in an extra poststamp…..untill we found out we cannot exchange poststamps for money at the postoffice… So now we ask you to throw in a little money. Whatever you want to share. Put the money in a non-transparant envelope IN the transparant envelope. We hope to get a bankaccount shortly...
WHY?
Yasho and Ed support a call from dutch artist Daphne Brankaert. Friends of hers want to ride the Alp d’Huez in France in 2012. This yearly event called Alpe d’HuZES is organised to give extra attention to and also remind those who lost their lifes in the battle against cancer.
Daphne will receive all the money we receive from you... it is a little gesture but all support counts.
WHAT will happen to the little artworks?
By sewing the little artworks together with needle and thread they will form a carpet. The carpet’s size depends on how many little artworks find their way to Yasho’s. It might become 1 big or several smaller carpets. We will see how far we get with all the 10x10 cm artworks we receive.
After every 20th recieved little artworks we will upload a picture to show what it looks like so far to www.projectartmailbooks.com and the facebookgroup with a list of participants and the money we received.
