Q: What is Mailart?

A: By definition, mail art must be:

     - mailed from one destination to another;

     - may be mailed from one destination to another, in a series of mailings;

     - the series of mailings could return to the originator;

Q: What kind of types of Mail art exist?

A: There are basically two main types of mail art:

     - collection mail art  and

      - traveling mail art.

     A collection mail art project is one which hosted by one artist, and a group of other artists mail in their art

     to the host. The host then sorts the mail art and mails different art back to the participants.

     In a collection mail art project the host may or may not include their own art, although typically the host

     A traveling mail art project travels from one participant to another, who all collaborate on the mail art, only       to return it back to the originator.


Q: What do i get?

A: You get a little booklet made of simple wrappingpaper. The booklet is approximately 16 cm x 12 cm.


Q: What kind of material do i have to use?

A: You use the material of your choice.


Q: When do i have to return the booklet?

A: You return the booklet when you, the artist, think it's ready.


Q: Will the projects initiator become the owner of the booklets after the shows?

A: No. The projects initiator will not become the owner of the booklets. He will archive them and he will make one or several shows with the project.


Q: Will the booklets be sold?

A: No, the booklets will not be sold. The projects initiator will archive them and in due time he will make a show of these booklets. You will be notified when the show will be held.
